Question : Ghost - VERY VERY SLOW on Intel S5000VSA RAID Configuration.

Issue: Ghost - Very Very Slow when using Intel S5000VSA board with SAS RAID 5. Details: I am trying to Ghost an image from an old server to a new server using an Intel S5000VSA board and its integrated RAID using 15K RPM SAS configured as RAID 5. I know it is not an issue with the network or NICs because I have installed the drive with the image in the server and attempted a Ghost - Drive from Image all within the server and no network involved. Whether I ghost drive to drive or over a network, I am limitted to 37MB / Minute (which will take 15 Hours for the data partition). Any help is appreciated.

Then there isn't much else you can do, except maybe try other cloning or imaging software, but those will likely have similar problems. One you could try is bootit-ng. The free trial works, it just has the problem that an image can't be restored after the trial period, so for testing it may worthwhile. It also lets you manipulate partitions (like partitionmagic, but it also works on server partitions), so it is more complete, and less expensive than ghost. What it won't do as far as I know is clone or image across lans, so for that you would probably still want to keep ghost.
