Question : Remote Desktop has no sound At Client - Error C00D11BA

Hello all,

I'm not really sure where this issue falls under, but I will see.

I am using XP Pro SP2 as the client and Windows Server 2003 R2 SP1 as the terminal server.

We get our voicemails delivered to our mailboxes via Outlook.
Users that work from home want to be able to login via rdp and play their voicemail messages.

To allow for this I took the following steps as outlined in the 2 following KB articles.

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=818465 (after doing this, I ran 'gpupdate /force'.)
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;307071

The sound still does not work at the client when trying to play the .wav file via the media player on the server. Error C00D11BA comes up.

When I look in the Sound and Audio Devices Properties page it show the Microsoft RDP Audio Driver.

Any help on this would be great.

Thanks,
Cepolly
