Question : Windows 98 and SE Product keys.
|
|
I have a customer who did have Windows 98 on her computer. I have reformatted the harddrive. I have the original product key for the 98. I don't have a copy of Windows 98. I do have a copy of Windows 98 SE. Would a 98 product key work with SE? If it would would this be legal to do this or would I need to find a Windows 98 CD? I would apprecaite an answer on this.
Thanks,
Compucharley

And as an afterthought....... Going back to whether you can use someone elses Win98 cd? You absolutely can as long as the user has a valid product key of their own that is registered with Microsoft.
