Question : How do you enable Network DTC on Windows 2000?

In 2003 and XP I can find it by:

Component Services -> right click on My Computer -> Properties -> MSDTC tab -> Security Configuration button -> Network DTC Access

I am unable to use an opendatasource query in MSSQL Server as it uses DTC.
Server: Msg 7391, Level 16, State 1, Line 7
The operation could not be performed because the OLE DB provider 'SQLOLEDB' was unable to begin a distributed transaction.
[OLE/DB provider returned message: New transaction cannot enlist in the specified transaction coordinator. ]
OLE DB error trace [OLE/DB Provider 'SQLOLEDB' ITransactionJoin::JoinTransaction returned 0x8004d00a].

Thanks

Answer : How do you enable Network DTC on Windows 2000?

Have a look at this: http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=678615&SiteID=1

It appears that there aren't any configuration settings for windows 2000, but there is some commentary on how to get a W2K3 and XP box talking to the W2K server.

Is the MSDTC service running? Should be installed with SQL Server.
