Question : Windows Vista not reporting status to WSUS
|
|
I've added my first Windows Vista machine to my Windows 2003 network, which--up until now--only had Windows XP Pro workstations on it. I'm running WSUS with Service Pack 1 to distribute updates, and although the WSUS server has detected the Vista workstation I keep getting an error that states "This computer has not reported status yet."
It's been over 24 hours, so obviously there's something that the Vista workstation doesn't like. I have Windows Firewall turned off as a matter of Group Policy, plus the GP also has every workstation pointing to the WSUS server for its updates. I haven't had this issue on any other machine, so I know the WSUS server is functioning properly.
Is there something I need to do to Vista to get it to report status? Thanks!

Maybe (I am not sure if I remember it right) this problem gets resolved through upgrading to wsus 2.0 (or 3.0). Yu may find in wsus 2.0/3.0 specs
