Question : XP booting to a blank screen

I formatted my HD and installed XP again on my laptop. It worked for about a week or so. And then once i restarted the computer it now only restarts to a blank screen?!?? Only two apps that i installed on this machine were Office Xp and Civilization 3.

Any ideas?

Answer : XP booting to a blank screen

Sounds like bad sectors was the reason you needed to reformat(cover up bad and put replacement sectors).  Once you reformatted it worked fine for awhile until more bad sectors came up.  More bad sectors coming up is most likely a bad Hard drive but it could be bad bios settings or a failing power supply too.

If I were in your shoes I would go ahead and buy a new harddrive.
