P.S If anyone from this TA could also put there input on the other question I would really appreicate it because I have never had an AMD system before and it is the dual core AMD Athlon 64 4400 +
Thanks again !
Answer : Windows XP Pro 64 bit edition ?
What you get:
- Supported amount of memory > 4GB
- Increased address space for every process
- Faster vectorial arithmetic operations wirh a register size of 64bit
Disadvantage:
- driver support only for "mainstream" hardware, more "exotic" devices might not work.
Oh, and yes, no more 16bit applications, bye bye DoS.
