Question : selecting a payment-provider or an ecommerce/shop system for backoffice/administration

we have a subscription-based premium community, and need to integrate the payment workflow now.

it seems that the payment providers we checked "only" provide the billing gateway, but almost no backoffice or administration interfaces (like a simple CRM, transaction history per user, etc.)

which payment provider offer these kind of services for a small- to mid-size site?

or does it make more sense to integrate a shop-solution and only use it for the backoffice administration tasks?

It's too general of a question for me to really be able to recommend a product.  I can tell you how I would approach the problem:

1) Users create accounts on your site
2) Users pay for subscription
3) Successful transaction code causes a series of updates to the user database resulting in access for the user and tracking for you

Boiled down like that, the problem is not that hard to write a solution for.  If you are bound and determined to use a product, I would start your search here:
