Question : SEO & Tabbed Content

Hi guys
Just wondering how I will go for SEO and tabbed content. In that, to have a tabbing system work, the tabbed content that isn't currently being shown has to be hidden on the page. So my question is, does search engines like Google, msn, yahoo, etc, see this hidden content and penalise you for it, when really it is just tabbed content.

What you have proposed is just about exactly what I've done so far and I have found no problems with this. It is also the same implementation many top ranking sites use to enhance user experience. I guess the key here is "enhancing user experience". I suppose they have algorithms to check whether something is part of the site or just hidden text, although I can't imagine how that works. But I haven't heard of anybody being penalized wrongly over this.

If you want to try it out first to make completely sure, upload a test page, link to it and wait to see how Google indexes it.
