Question : Exchange 2000 memory leak after installing Win 2K SP4
|
|
After installing Windows 2000 SP4, store.exe has developed a memory leak on my server.
I am running Exchange 2K SP3, with the March 24, 2003 Post SP3 hotfix rollup.
I am running it on a Dell Poweredge 2400 dual 1GHz, 1.3GB RAM, RAID 5
Has anyone ran into this problem. How can I report it to Microsoft (without paying a charge)?
Thanks in advance.

I'll tell you what I know :)
I am running Exchange 2000 SP3, with the March 24, 2003 Post SP3 hotfix rollup. I am running it on a Dell 1600SC 2Ghz Xeon, 0.5GB RAM, RAID 5
I had the same problem with store.exe leaking when Win2000 SP4 was installed. I uninstalled and it cleared the problem. Unfortunately this left the server unpatched, so I installed patches 324096,324380,329115,329834,810833,817606,822679,811114,815021 as these where deemed necessary. This then brought the problem back. I successively removed each patch individually, rebooting each time, until i was left with 329834 and 324380 I removed these at the same time (i was fed up at this point) and the problem cleared again. Whether it's these patches alone or they interact with others I do not know, but i now have installed Exch post sp3 rollup 813840, 823559,823980,324096,329115,810833,817606,811114,815021 and it is working nicely.. So it looks like hotfix 329834 and/or 324380 is the problem... Good luck!
