Question : How to make and Icon Hyperlink??

Does anybody know how to make an icon that can be placed on the Windows desktop that will act as a direct hyperlink to my web site. I don't think its too complicated, but I would like to give my web visitors the option to download the icon from my site to their desktop. Can it be done??

If I read the question correctly, I don't understand exelrud's comment. It seems to me you are asking how to make an ICON, not associate an already made ICON with a shortcut.

http://www.favicon.com/ has an online capability of making and downloading a 16x16 bit icon used to show up in your favorites list (and other places).

It also has a program you can download and register which will make ICONs.

Other graphics programs have the ability to design a 16x16 or 32x32 pixel icon, and save it as an ICO file.
