Question : Open attachments in Outlook 2007 without being read-only

I am running Vista and Outlook 2007. When I open attachments from an email, they will only open in the read-only mode. Is there a setting that can be changed so that they will not be read-only?

PS:  I seem to remember that Outlook 2003 did this unless you fully opened the email (rather than via the preview window) and then opened the attachment.  If I recall correctly this was an intentional 'feature'.  Are you opening the attachment from the preview pane?
