Question : Hide the Task Scheduler Icon in the System Tray
|
|
I have been looking all over for a way to hide the task scheduler icon on the system tray. I've found a great little utility, tray keeper at http://www.mlin.net/. The only problem is that it will leave it's own icon in place of the hidden ones. My situation is that I need to lock the systems down tight enough to keep the "button pushers" from screwing things up. I have to automate a number of tasks and don't want them to have the ability to monkey around with the Task Scheduler. I need either a way to hide it's icon in the System Tray, or a way to restrict access to it.

Just a guess - I found my mstask in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices
and it doesn't show in the systray. I'm using a different version of Windows though.
Try cutting the key from "run" and pasting into "run services"
