Question : Presto! Pagemanager
|
|
We have a win nt 3.51 network running windows95 workstations and have just brought a umax astra 610s scanner with Presto pagemanager. We want to move the TWAIN directories from c:\windows\ to a new location on the c: drive but when we do this and run Pagemanager and select acquire we get the following error message;
"error opening data source".
Obviously, Pagemanager is looking in c:\windows\ for the TWAIN directory files and cant find them anymore because we have moved them. Does anyone know where in pagemanager is the program trying to find the location of the TWAIN files and how we can change the setup to point to the new location

If you move the TWAIN files from the Windows directory, the drivers are not working any more. TWAIN.DLLs and the TWUNK.... files most reside in the Windows directory. You could probably move the /TWAIN and /TWAIN_32 subdirectories if you adjust the corresponding entry in win.ini (look for [Twain] Default Source=C:\WINDOWS\...\SAMPLE.DS) or the registry, depending on your drivers. You could also try to include the new directories in the PATH variable, if it doesn't work. But why do you want to move these directories to another location...??
