Question : Setting up multiple printer profiles
|
|
Is there a way to define multiple printers to Win95, all using the same physical printer, but with different properties? For example: on my HP890C, I print with two profiles: one is color, single sided, and the other is black&white only, two sided. For another printer the profiles may be "any tray" vs "Tray 2" I'd like to be able to just select the appropriate profile in the Print dialog without having to go into Properties.
Is there a way to do this?
Thanks,
George Marshall

George,
1. start 2. setting>>printers 3. double click add printer (have Win95 CD in) 4. printer wizzaer....click next 5. choose generic/text only printer 6. next>>[keep existing drivers] 7. choose printer port 8. NO to default 9. Test Page NO 10. finish. Now you will have a generic printer icon. Right click, choose properties. Go to details tab>>> In the middle [at generic/text] drop down box>>>choose original printer driver. AT warning say bypass and say Yes. After YES entered you will see a "setup" button>>> click and that will bring up your printer options. Choose options>>OK your way out. In that shortcut you can say what you want.
Now test. Go to wordpad>.file print>>In print box select new setup. OK
Try that. You are still working with your original printer. You can make as many new icon as you want, call the Color>>>Black and white>>> landscape>>> or how ever mant you want.
