Question : DVD crashes vista ultimate error 0x000000e3

I just built a pc for Vista Ultimate. I have a ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe MB with AN Athlon 64 4800 Toledo core socket CPU.
I cannot play a DVD, the system crashes with a BSOD stop error 0x000000e3. The crash happens using media player and media center. I have a sony DVD+/-RW  DRU-120C, the system installed it as a Sony DVD-RW DW-G120A. I have uninstalled and the system reinstalles it as the same drive (DW-G120A). Everything else seems to be working properly. I can play CD's, the sample movies play fine. I think it must be the driver. I checked with sony, no reply as of yet. I have checked boards and found similar issues, they had a different type of DVD though.
