Question : Format hard drive and reinstall Windows XP

I have a Dell Dimension 2400 running Windows XP Home Edition. I would like to format my hard drive (wipe it clean) and use the reinstallation CD to reinstall the XP.

When I perform the following steps the box to select Format is not active:
      Under administrative tools
      Computer management
      Disk Management
      Right click C drive

Ive also tried booting from the cd rom with the reinstallation cd in and that didnt work either.

Any ideas?

Hi!

You can not format drive of working OS. Boot from XP CD, select new installation and when you will select partition to install XP on, format option will be available.
