Question : Relinking Exchange mailbox to a recovered AD user fails

I have a problem at the office, that I cant find a solution for.

I accidentally deleted a OU containing two user accounts (mine, and my colleague). Both have mailboxes in a Exchange 2003 environment.
I managed to restore the useraccounts, but im having difficulties relinking the mailboxes to the accounts.
I tried to run the Clean Up Agent, and reconnecting the mailbox to the user; but that only gave me an error:

"The operation cannot be performed because this mailbox already reconnected to an existing user.
ID no: c1034ad6
Exchange System Manager"

I have also tried adding the mailstore to the Mailbox Recovery Center. The two mailboxes were located, and i tried to match it. It seemed to work, and the operation completed successfully. After that, the red cross disappears from the mailbox. But if i try to refresh, the red cross is back. Ive also tried to update the RUS service. If i again try to reconnect the mailbox, i get the same error still.

I thought of exporting the data too, using Exmerge. But it cant locate the orphan mailboxes, so there is nothing to export.
Also, i tried to examine the homeMDB and mailNickname attributes with ldifde. But it doesnt show the homeMDB and mailNickname.

C:\>ldifde -F CON.txt -j c:\mailtemp -D "CN=Username,OU=UMS,DC=*****,DC=**o" -L homeMDB,mailNickname
Connecting to "***.*****.**"
Logging in as current user using SSPI
Exporting directory to file CON.txt
Searching for entries...
Writing out entries.dn: CN=Username,OU=UMS,DC=*****,DC=**
changetype: add
1 entries exported
The command has completed successfully

Anyone have any idea what to do?

Best regards,
Rune

Answer : Relinking Exchange mailbox to a recovered AD user fails

Have u completed one user? or prob is with sencond one now?

since logon name (accounts) is diffrent - try to use resolve conflict & then specify target account.

Also the account you are using should not have exchnage mailbox. It should be only AD accounts. Pls make sure it does not have Exchange Tabs in user propperties or working mailbox in ESM.
