Question : Default dictionary keeps changing

I have word 2007 running on XP Pro. The language is set as UK English. The dictionary in word 2007 however on any new document defaults to Welsh (why Welsh I have no idea). I have gone through the procedure numerous times to change the default dictionary to Uk English and get the message that says all new documents will use the default language and while the document remains open it is ok. However as soon as I close Word and restart it the dictionary has gone back to Welsh. Very Frustrating.
Anybody any ideas?

I think office will pick up the windows system language as the default.
is windows system language set to welsh?
check your language bar settings as well and confirm these are set to UK.
