Question : Pruning Printers

Hello All,
We recently had a print server go down. The OS had big problems, so logging into it and unistalling all the printers was not possible before reinstalling.

I reinstalled the whole OS on the same box, renamed it (we did not want to use the old print server name) and reinstalled all the printers on it. Everything works great, except when a user does the add\remove printer wizard, the old server name still shows up listing all the printers it used to have.

This is confusing to users, because they do not know to look at the server name before choosing what printer to install.

I have changed the group policy settings on the DCs to prune printers no longer on the network, with no luck. It has been 3 weeks now and the printers are still there.

How can I unpublish all those old printers?

3) From the "Find:" drop down box select "Printers"
4) Click "Find Now"
5) Select the printer(s) you want to delete, right click and select "Delete"
