Question : Ghost boot disc with Acer Power 2000 desktop
|
|
Hello all,
I am in need of support for creating a boot disc for an Acer Power 2000. When I run the ghost boot disc wizard I choose the options in the ghost boot wizard I am choosing the following. 1.)Network Boot Package 2.)Highlight Marvell Yukon Gigabit Ethernet adapter as an NDIS2 Driver 3.)Use PC-DOS 4.)Under client type I choose Symantec Ghost, the correct path to the ghost.exe and click Next 5.)Firewire and USB options are left blank 6.)DHCP is chosen under network settings 7.)Create ISO Image, Provide a file name, Check the box for CD/DVD bootable support. Click Next 8.) Ghost Review details are shown. I see the following. Client Details Client: Symantec Ghost Destination: C:\Ghost2.iso
Network Driver Template: Marvell Yukon Gigabit Ethernet Driver: yuknd.dos Driver Type: NDIS2 Driver
Configuration Files: Autoexec.bat @echo off Set TX=GHO+5:00 prompt$p$g \net\netbind.com if exist mouse.com mouse.com echo loading cd\ghost ghost.exe -bootcd=\cddvdimg.bin -ghostoncd
Config.sys Device =\net\protman.dox /l:\net Device =\net\dis_pkt.dos Device =\net\yuknd.dos Lastdrive = Z
Protocol.ini [protman] drivename=PROTMAN$ [pktdrv] drivename=PKTDRV$ bindings=nic intvec=0x60 chainvec=0x66 [nic] drivename=yuknd$
9.)The wizrd finished and creates the ISO
10.)I then take the iso and burn it to a dvd and have two files on the dvd Bootcat and osboot.img.
11.) I restart the pc with the new boot disk and recieve a boot failure message. Boot from CD: 1. HD System Type-(00) Boot Failure
When I try this same dvd or cd on another system it works.
Can anyone please assist. I have 50 workstations that I need to deploy. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I found that I could use floppy disks with an external usb floppy drive. The ghost boot wizard parameter or -noide was also needed.
