Question : The redirector was unable to create a worker thread
|
|
Hi, experts.
This is my problem: I have a server connected to the internet, running NT and all of a sudden it stopped.
I restarted the computer and am getting this error messages (event viewer): 1. the redirector was unable to create a worker thread because it already created the maximun member of configured work threads. 2. the workstation service terminated with the following error: the redirector is un use and cannot be unloaded.
Following a Microsoft article I did this: 1. added a new line to the registry : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet \Services\Lanmanworkstation\parameters maxthreads
I set it to 150
and now the the firt error is gone but still when I double click on the network icon it says that it is not connected to the network, and the other errors are still there plus one saying that
could not star the Browser...
any idea?.
thanks in advanced

After doing some research in knowledgebase I see, maxthreads defaults to 17. So I have to suspect, that your value of 150 is to high and prevents lanmanworkstation from initializing properly. I guess, the service status is 2 - start pending.
