Question : Missing system tray items on startup then ok after logout/logon

When I start up my PC running WinXP (SP3) a number of items which used to appear in the system tray never appear (configured to go straight to the desktop without the login screen).  A couple of items do consistently show. However, if I logout then login the missing items appear.

It looks like its the items in both the Current User and All Users Startup folders which do not start from power up?

How do I get these items to start from power up?

Answer : Missing system tray items on startup then ok after logout/logon

Hi, do an SFC /scannow and replace any files that may be corrupt.

Otherwise click on start and run and type Msconfig hit enter.  Click the startup tab and then uncheck half of the items listed.  If the problem goes away you know its in that half if not then it could still be in the other half.  So dianle the other half and see if disappears.  If it does go away keep cutting the number of disabled items in half.  You will eventually find out which app is causing it. When you do goto regedit and goto HKLM,software, Microsoft, windows, current version, run and locate the startup item there.  Backup the key and then wipe out the line or you can just leave us disabled in Msconfig.
