Question : teenager mysteriously obtaining administrator rights

I have Windows XP on a desktop and Windows Vista on a laptop at home. My older son, 17 years old, is on a limited account on both of these computers but apparently prefers administrator rights, possibly to avoid parental control limitations on the Internet and also to ease downloads for World of Warcraft.

Recently after a little tiff at home over warcraft, my wife limited his privileges and time on the computer. Before he left he reset her password and she couldn't get in at all as administrator. Somehow also he eliminated password for his user.

I'm assuming that sometime in the recent past, prior to the episode above, unbeknownst to her, he sat down while she stepped away during usage as administrator and changed his own privileges and rights, and capitalized on that at this later date. Is there some other way that he could have flipped around administrator privileges without being an administrator already?

he has also managed to disable, numerous times, cyber patrol's most recent version. Is there someplace where teenagers are getting great ideas to disable controls on their behavior?

Well, you can do what I do to my kids...lock them out using a BIOS password, and put a padlock on the case so they can't clear the BIOS password.

If that doesn't work a motion detected laser that fires at anything that comes near the keyboard should stop them!
