Question : Exchange 2007 RPC over HTTP Not Working (new to exchange)
|
|
We just implemented Exchange 2007 on Windows Server 2003 x64.
We can send/receive mail all well as long as we are connected to the internal network or VPN. I have set up the RPC over HTTP option on the server and client (IF I have done so correctly.)
On the server, I have installed the RPC over HTTP windows comonent, enabled outlook anywhere. Have checked the virtual RPC directory and all seems to be set correctly?
We did NOT purchase an SSL certificate - we used the one from our server or the one that came with exchange, i guess. And we want to use NTLM authentication.
The following firewall ports are open correctly, because I am able to TELNET through them: 443, 80, and 25.
Can someone help me troubleshoot the problem? I have tried many combinations on the OUTLOOK client to connect. I dont "really" have a proxy server, but have tried entering the external DNS name for the mail server in that spot - dont know if that will work or not.
And I dont know if this is part of the problem, but when I use the external dns name to set up the client on the internal network, it automatically reverts to the internal dNS name?
PLEASE help. Thanks

Ack. Ive looked around, and it happened to be a certificate problem. I purchased an SSL Cert for Microsoft Exchange 07 and everything works great! Thanks
