Question : Moving mail store on Exchange 2003 SP2 cluster

Setup:
Two node Exchange 2003 SP2 cluster active/passive
EMC CX300 SAN
EMC DS-200B fiber switche connecting them
Three Exchange storage groups

We have a single mailbox on a single Mailstore on a single Exchange Storage Group.  This is a utility mailbox that used to store about 200-250gb of email and recently we reduced the amount email below 100gb so we wanted to reduce the LUN that it was on to 100gb. Last week I created the new LUN on the CX300, added it to the Exchange Cluster group and then on the Active server added the drive, added the resource (with both servers as possible owners) in the cluster administrator.  Then I moved the Mail Store to the new drive and everything was fine.

This morning I tried to do my monthly failover and the mail store in question could not be brought up.  In looking at the event log on the passive server it had many errors from ESE saying that the device (the new drive) was not ready.  Was there something that needed to be done on the passive server to see the new LUN?  The SAN and fiber setup seems to be correct and the active server had no trouble seeing it.  It failed back to the original active server and is running fine.

Any ideas?  Thanks.

Answer : Moving mail store on Exchange 2003 SP2 cluster

I eventually had to move the storage group back to the original lun, then delete the new lun, recreate it and then initialize it on both servers before adding it to the cluster services.  Then I could move the storage group over to the new lun and then I could move exchange from the active node to the passive node.
