Question : Setting up Clients on Outlook Anywhere
I have very little experience with Outlook Anywhere and just wanted to ask some questions from someone who has uses it. I just setup an exchange 2007 server and turned on Outlook Anywhere. It seem the only way I can get remote client working is to first setup and VPN connection to my network and then setup their Outlook using and RPC connection. After do that I can configure Outlook Anywhere and it will connect just fine. If I do not do the RPC connection first, I cannot get Outlook Anywhere to work. Is this what you have experienced? Also I have one other question. From you experience how long does it take Outllook to establish and RPC over HTTP connection? I have checked both boxes off that say to use HTTP for slow and fast connections and it takes about 60 sec for Outlook to establish a connection.

You should either use a) only VPN and not Outlook Anywhere or b) only Outlook Anywhere and not VPN. I'd reccomend Outlook Anywhere only and it should connect in less than 20 seconds. Note that you should not try this with VPN connected, the routing table will make the connection slow.
