Question : Create/Use email stationary only on outgoing message,not on customer reply

I've created an email background in Illustrator and saved it as a low resolution JPEG.  This background shows opening hours, tel & fax nrs, our company logo, etc ....

We are planning to use this as the default stationary on all workstations for outgoing email messages.

Sending is fine (test fase), and the background looks OK ,if i say so myself.

However, when a possible client replies to our email, the background is used again on His/Her email answer

This is not good, because the top of the stationary is quite dark , so the addressee has to "enter" a couple of times so they can type below the top piece of our stationary.  This is because the addresse start typing on top of the email, directly in the header of the stationary.  Our "setup" stationary already includes already some enters so for our users it is not a problem.  They start typing below the header

How can i set up an email stationary that will only be used on outgoing messages and not on reply and/or forward ?

Also some suggestions on creating the stationary background in another program could be useful.  Since the background still remains and 65kb without text input from our clients.  It is now treated as a JPEG background.

The simple answer is this - don't use stationary.
How many large companies do you see use stationary? None.
You cannot control how the email looks at the other end, how it is handled. It could cause problems with display and formatting of the email.

My personal opinion is that stationary is not a professional image, it is something for home users only and anyone serious about their email wouldn't use it.

And a single message at 64kb? That will quickly eat the space in your Exchange server.

1 user sends 10 messages a day, that is 640k. Average 200 working days a year means around 128mb of data just on the stationary. Multiply that by 10 users and you have over gb of data.
