Question : Cloning images to Optiplex 755. Getting blue screens and reboots

I am trying to use an image i have made of an optiplex 745 (with another attempt using a GX620) to clone our new 755's. I was hoping to get windows running and then i can change whatever drivers are needed.

Unfortunately, the 755 POSTs, then begins to load windows. About 1 second after windows starts to load (windows progress bar on the screen), it quickly blue screens and reboots.

Windows Repair just tells me it cannot repair the startup, and that a patch, or recent driver installation might be the cause.

I have tried running in safe mode with the same result. I have also tried switching some bios settings but to no avail. Does anyone have any thoughts or have fixed this issue?

thanks

Answer : Cloning images to Optiplex 755. Getting blue screens and reboots

This is a very old problem in cloning windows on different hardware.
There are a lot of workarounds and lot more docs arount to try to solve these issues.

Most of times you'll have no luck and the time is spent.

The best way to avoid problems is to create an image on a newly installed machine to use on identical computers.

Btw there is another software that i have see that *could* solve this kind of troubles:

http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/index.htm

Try to clone old pc with Image for Windows or Image for Dos and try. App's specs state they solved this issue.
