Question : os2,ibm dial up tcpip

I have a pc340 with os2 warp version 3 operating system.  I am using using netscape navigator 2.02 to connect to the internet, with the ibm dial up for tcp ip version 2 revision 1.8h.

I get connected to the internet, but the ibm dial up for tcp ip does not get past the link and ppp, therefore netscape never loads.

It was suggested that maybe there was a fix for the tcp ip version I was using???  I have been to the tcp ip pages from ibm, but had trouble determining which one I needed, or if I needed one at all.

Do you have any suggestions for me... settings, fixes???

Thank you

Answer : os2,ibm dial up tcpip

Tell me who is your ISP. The configuration
of the dialer is a little tricky depending
on the ISP. For instance netcom requires a
# in front of your userid on the first
page of the dialer setup but not on the
other pages. If you have netcom they have
tech notes for various dialers including
OS/2 Warp. as far as fixes are concerned
you should be able to connect to the net
even without the fixes, however, once
connected there is an icon in Warp
Connect, which will get you the the page
to Retrieve Software Updates. If you don't
have Warp Connect then you really do need
to get updates soon, but get connected
first. There are a few ISPs who will not
take the time to help you with configuring
your dialer, but almost every nationwide
ISP has docs for OS/2 users.
