Question : Force NTFS permissions on all subfolders

We have a folder on an older shared drive where the permissions have been set by many individuals over many years. There are some folders where individuals are set with permissiosn they should not have There are aslo some folders that are set to not inherit the permissions from the parent folder.

What we would like to do is take the permissions that we just defined on the top level folder and force those all the way down the subtree regardless of what users are set and what inheritance options are set. We want all folders security lists to match the main folder.

Answer : Force NTFS permissions on all subfolders

Go to Folder Properties>Security>Advanced > and select the option "Replace permission entries on all... "

and uncheck "inherit..."
