Question : Active Directory users profiles not always mapping correctly
I have a windows 2003 environment with XP users. I use the active directory users and computers, the profile tab of a user account, to map their personal network drive. (Ex: Connect P: To \\files\users\bob) This had been working fine for years but with the newest round of computers about every other logon maps a folder short. \\files\users\bob\ becomes \\files\users\ Which shows all users folders, instead of the correct users folder. This only maps incorrectly for the newest computers ... all other computers XP/2000 map correctly. And this only happens about every other time. It isn't consistent at all. At first a thought this might be because the new computers are logging on too fast. Anyways any help on this would be great.

Answer : Active Directory users profiles not always mapping correctly

Disabling the fast logon feature by putting the "Always wait for network...." setting worked for us. This is in Comptuer Configuration / Administrative Templates / System / Logon. We also set Comptuer Configuration / Administrative Templates / System / Group Policy Slow link detection: Enabled to 0
