Question : IMAP mail not going to personal folders inbox
|
|
How do I get the IMAP mail to go to the main personal folders inbox on outlook.
Right now it's the default account (the only email account) on outlook. But the inbox shows up as a separate thing, not in the inbox for the personal folders. when I send something from the IMAP account the sent goes to sent on the personal folders.
To be completely clear, there was a pop account that was set up originally in this Outlook and it received email in the personal folders inbox. That was removed before adding the IMAP account.

IMAP folders are always handled seperately by Outlook - and you can not change that - IMAP is a server based storage mediun for email and Outlook acts merely as a "client".
You could set-up a rule to copy messages from your IMAP folders in to your "Personal Folder" as they arrive and get sent, but you would still have to manually "purge" the messages from your IMAP folders and in turn the IMAP folders always need to remain in your Outlook folder listings.
You can close and remove the "Personal Folder" leaving your IMAP folders as the only place for Outlook to work, however you may loose your Contacts and Calendar so be careful.
