Question : Applications missing under Iseries Navigator

We have a workstation that for some reason will not show all applications under the iSeries navigator, particularly printers and printer output under basic tasks.  Here is what I know:

1.  When you go to application administration, there is a check mark in both Default and All Object access for this missing items

2.  Does not matter who is logged into the Navigator (user or admin)

3.  When same users logs into a different workstation, all applications show up fine

4.  Workstation is XP, tried uninstalling and reinstalling iSeries as well as the complete package.  Also tried manually cleaning out the registry after uninstall/reboot.

5.  This is version 5, Release 4 mod level 0 - same as on all workstations.

Would appreciate any help in figuring this out.  The majority of the application show up fine, just missing a few key ones for one employee.  Hate to blow out and rebuild a workstation!

Thanks,

Joe

Answer : Applications missing under Iseries Navigator

Start/Programs/iSeries Access for Windows/iSeries Access for Windows Properties
On the General Tab, the version and service pack level is shown.
My laptop is at Version 5 Release 4 Mod level 0  Service pack SI29771

You can find the latest levels here:
http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/i/software/access/windows/casp.html
(Looks like i will be updating my own!)

I always mention the service pack because IBM's support line will insist on it if you report a problem.
Service pack installation will often clear up unusual behaviour, especially if the user installed something that conflicts.

Under point 2, you said logged in as user/admin. Did you try using a different iSeries user profile with more authority?
Failing that, is there anything else unusual about this pc?
