Question : Block internet access to all applications except Outlook in XP Pro
|
|
Several machines in a workgroup. The customer wants to block access to internet but still send and receive mail via Outlook. The ADSL router is not configureable.
Any way of implementing this on each machine whilst still allowing browsing on the local network? The user should not be able to bypass the external block...
Thanks

Yo can set this in the local security settings rather than on the IE options themselves - Start->Run->GPEDIT.MSC and go to User Configuration, Windows Settings, Internet Explorer Maintenance->Connection
Only a user who is a local admin can chnage that.
Yes it will block local html files - Unless that is you use the by-pas proxy for local addresses option
No it will not block outlook as that will use POP/SMTP
