Question : recreating a logo

I have a low resolution logo that I need to recreate in high resolution.  It consists of a words and an image.  I have a high res .eps file of the image available.  Do I need to be using photoshop or illustrator?  The version I have is CS2.  I will need this logo for print as well as vehicle graphics.  The original low res version is attached.

Thank you,
Toby

Answer : recreating a logo

i would recreate this in illustrator for a few reasons.

1. ultimately, in the end you'll always be able to take the finished illustrator file into photoshop. it gets more complicated the other way around.
2. if your intent is to print to something like a vinyl cutter to adhere to signs, windows, car decals, whatever... illustrator will be your preference. its a vector based program meaning it works on point to point basis and the mathematical line drawn between those points.
3. because illustrator is vector based, it matters not what size you build it at, its completely scalable with no loose in quality.

again, not to say it can't be done in photoshop because it can and you can overcome every hurdle. but imho, illustrator is the way to go.
