Question : password promts when using FQDNs in MOSS

We've recently deployed MOSS 2007 in our network and have opted to use FQDN's instead of standard netbios server names for our various sharepoint sites. (i.e. using http://sharepointsite1.office.net instead of http://sharepointserver). I've configured kerberos authentication (I believe correctly) but still, whenever a user tries to access any site she is prompted for a username and password, and if she follows a link on one site to another site hosted on another web application she is again prompted for her username and password.

I thought that configuring kerberos would allow IE to pass the users credentials without being prompted, but this does not seem to be working. Am I missing a step here? What else needs to be done so that my users do not need to submit a username and password when accessing these sites from the internal network?

Thanks

If you look at your security settings for IE you can configure it to use automatic logon for intranet sites.  You can also configure trusted sites to use automatic login.

If you are using IE look at the bottom right on the status bar and there is an icon and text description for how IE sees the website.  If it isn't Local Intranet then you need to configure the settings for IE.  Your network admin can set a group policy to have all browsers use the appropriate settings.
