Question : new messages not displaying

I have a remote user who when replicates gets the notification that he has new mail. It displays in his all documents but not in his inbox view. It just started a few days ago and he lives across the country.. Also he recieved a few messages dated later than the actual date. If one of you guys could please let me know of a solution that I can walk them through or perform here .I've seen a few messages in the search area relating to this but the link was disabled. I just started using ee today so I'm not sure how everything works.

Answer : new messages not displaying

I can think of thre things:

1) A corrupt Inbox.  Try opening the Inbox, and hit Shift-F9 (NOT Shift-Control-F9).  If tha doesn't work, try replacing the Inbox with a new copy via Designer

2) A duplicate Inbox.  Use Designer to check for two folders named or aliased ($Inbox).  If there are two, use the Preview in Notes option to see if mail was delivered in either one.  Merge the two, and get rid of the one that does not receive mail.

3) The dreaded Future Clock problem.  Notes tracks replication and view up-to-datedness via an accurate system clock.  If it ever does a process (e.g., folder update) with the clock set in the future, it may be confused and think that it is more up to date than it really is (the folder was up to date as of 2010, and I haven't received any documents since).  A rebuild may help (Shift-F9, NOT control), or else he may need to pull a new replica.
