Question : Blackberry vs. Windows Mobile comparison - esp public folders
|
|
I've been a relatively happy Verizon Blackberry 7250 user for about 18 months for my small consulting business. Mi8 is my hosted Exchange provider so I can share Contacts, Tasks and Calendars with my co-partner.
I'm thinking about switching to the Motorola Q, but I have some questions. 1. Does ActiveSync push tecnology work as well as the Blackberry? Will I have access to my Contacts, Tasks and Calendar when I do not have service (like on a plane), as I do on the Blackberry? 2. Do I need to have Chapura PocketMirror Professional for Windows Mobile to view and sync public folders? Will this allow me to sync my email folders and subfolders as well? Have people been happy with this software? 3. When is Windows Mobile 6 due out, and should I wait for it, or can I upgrade alter?
Any other opinions on the comparison are welcome. Thanks a lot!

Windows Mobile 6.0 has been released to the OEMs. When you will see it on devices is down to each hardware manufacturer.
You will need something else to sync public folders. That functionality isn't built in to Windows Mobile (and never will be). I don't think anyone is offering that over the air, so you will need to dock the device. I haven't used PocketMirror with Windows Mobile so cannot comment on how well it works.
ActiveSync gives you Tasks, Calendar, Contacts and your Inbox.
