Question : 8 GB DDR2 PC-5300 RAM installed, shows up in BIOS, but in not in XP

I have an ABIT A9 motherboard with Intel 6700 Core Duo CPU running Windows XP Pro. I just replaced the RAM with 4 2GB DDR2 PC-5300 667MHz . During the next boot, I checked the BIOS and the RAM was clearly there. Upon starting Windows, I checked the properties of the computer at it displayed only 3.25 GB of RAM. Any ideas here? Am
i getting full RAM usuage?
