Question : 32 bit client > 64 bit client share access: Not enough server storage is available to process this command
I have an XP SP3 x86 client (512MB RAM) and a Vista x64 client (2 GB RAM) in a workgroup. The Vista client has several shares setup Everyone full control. The XP client can browse the Network Neighborhood and see the shared folders. When I go to open the shares I get the error, "Not enough server storage is available to process this command".
Also on the network is a Netgear NAS (Linux kernal OS) that has about 10 shares setup. I can see these in the XP network neghborhood AND open them. It's just the shares on the x64 Vista box I can't access now. I used to be able to when I used it to build this XP WS where my source files reside.
I've also tried the MS KB article detailing setting the IRPStackSize. No good using values 1-12 (XP boxes).
I've seen in threads with this problem people have solved it themselves by uninstalling certain programs like an AV product or Acronis Image Pro. But not exactly like mine so really need some sharp minds to help me with this one.
UAC is turned off on the Vista box and the OS's firewll is disabled on both clients.
The XP client has a password set for the only user and also has an account on the Vista box, same user account/password as the XP box.
thanks
Answer : 32 bit client > 64 bit client share access: Not enough server storage is available to process this command
I would try 18 and 21 for the IRP stacksize value....
Not sure if that value is tweakable in Vista, havent researched it yet....... Normally though, it is on the server hosting the shares....
