Question : Non-AD Logoff/Shutdown Script?
|
|
I'm looking for a way to run a logoff/shutdown script on an XP machine that's not in a domain. I found this link, but the page doesn't exist any more.

Is this possible? If so, how is it done? Thanks!!!

Within gpedit.msc: Local Computer Policy > Computer Configuration >> Windows Settings >>>Scripts (Startup/Shutdown) >>>>Shutdown
To add a script click Add. If you accept the default location using gpedit.msc then the script is saved to: C:\Windows\system32\GroupPolicy\Machine\Scripts\Shutdown
In the registry this appears in: Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Group Policy\State\Machine\Scripts\Shutdown\0\0 Value: Script Type: REG_SZ Value Data:
You may want to test this yourself to confirm.
