Question : Specified domain not exist on Local Win XP Pro Login
|
|
I recentlly installed XP Pro on the second partition of my XP Home box. All went well until I tried to login for the first time and got a specified domain does not exist or cannot be contacted error. I tried logging into the Administrator account from Safe Mode and got the same error. I tried using Ctrl-Alt-Del to bring up the classic login screen, but domain selection was not available (nor had I setup the install for this). I was able to login to the Administrator account through the XP Pro recoverly console but I have no idea what to do once I'm dumped into the DOS prompt. Another aspect of the problem is that XP Pro displayed my user account from my XP Home install; I had not created any accounts other than the Administrator account during install. I"m still able to boot into XP Home and login as usual. Any bits of sage wisdom to fix this problem?
