Question : How to view unresolved SIDS in the ACL of NTFS shares
|
|
HI, I'm doing a multi domain migration and consolidation project and am wanting to confirm what SIDS are actually being used on file/folder permissions rather than what the windows gui resolves them to which gets confusing with the SID history attribute and multiple trusts all still active.
Is there a tool/script that I can use to view the permissions associated with a share that shows a list of SIDS rather than username?

Do you think either of these will do the trick for you? Of course, these are third-party apps that Microsoft will not support.
I didn't know of these utilities either Jay Jay. So, I am also interested on seeing what comes of it since lots of folks are having SID problems across the board with WSUS, files/shares, logons ect...
