Question : Best E-mail blast program to use.

Hi Everyone,

I recently purchased Ocean11 Mailing Manager Pro and sent out a blast to my companies 500 customers.  The result clogged the server and our mailserver went down.  I had tested it and sent out a test blast to our marketing group and we recieved it.  My question is does anyone have any recommendations on some email blast programs that are low-cost, support multiples lists, and can send HTML emails?

Answer : Best E-mail blast program to use.

Before replacing Ocean11 Mailing Manager, have you checked the batch size that you are using.  If you want to say send a few thousand emails, you should get it to send a few at a time with a pause between each batch.

In view of the problems you had when you sent out 500, I suggest a very small batch size ( eg 10 ) with 1 min pause between batches.  This way you can send all the emails with the hour and you can always adjust those figures later.  Also, choose an off-peak time to do your sending.

Finally, are you sure that the emails were fully well-formed?  Were they correctly configured for HTML?  Did you have graphical images to send?  What was the total package size per email including any images and other attachments.
