Question : Outlook 2000 Forwarding message causes the original to disappear

Outlook 2000
When I forward a message from my inbox, the original message disappears. A copy does show up in "Sent" mail. I can't find an option that indicates an original message should be deleted when forwarded. This is something new after years of good behavior when forwarding.
