Question : Sharepoint bulk import

I need a way to bulk import a large amount of documents to a Sharepoint services site.  The documents are just on a file server with their metadata in a pipe delimited text file.  Does anyone know how to do this?

if those things are already part of the file (advanced attributes in word documents), then they will come over automatically as part of the file.

However, these are not the same as the metadata that SharePoint has as part of it's internal structure.  The only way to configure those pieces in SharePoint is to upload each file one at a time.

On the other hand, if the author is the same for all of the documents, you can upload all of the documents and then "Edit in DataSheet View" and then simply copy and paste data into the appropriate fields.
