Question : Removing Exchange 2000 from the organization without mailbox store

Recently, I added an Exchange 2003 server to my email organization and moved all mailboxes over with the Exchange Tasks wizard.  Because I needed the attached storage unit (PowerVault 220s) for the mailbox store locations on the 2003 server, the Exchange 2000 stores were deleted after I moved the mailboxes over.  The 2003 box is working correctly, and all roles have been assigned to the new machine.

I now want to remove the Exchange 2000 box from the Exchange Organization and then from Active Directory.  I have tried both methods for removing Exchange 1.)  Control Panel or Setup and choosing "Remove" in the setup window.  2.)  Manual removal process via Microsoft KB article 260378.

The error I recieve when trying to remove the Exchange 2000 server from System Manager on the Exchange 2003 box =

"The server "MS-CDA-01" cannot be removed because:
  - One or more users currently use a mailbox store on this server.  These users must be moved to a mailbox store on a different server or be mail disabled before uninstalling this server."

All the mailboxes from the 2000 server had been removed before the stores were deleted.  So how do I find and mail disable these users so I can remove this box?

I understand this problem is difficult, so I will assign it the appropriate point value.  Your help is greatly appreciated.
