Question : Backup a server to a non windows NAS (Buffalo -  TeraStation Pro II 2.0TB Network Attached Storage)

Hi there

We have a server running server 03, with backup exec 11d backing up itself and another server 03 to tape. (using a remote agent)

We want to introduce a disk to disk backup so that both servers are also backed up to the NAS.
(Buffalo -  TeraStation Pro II 2.0TB Network Attached Storage)
The NAS will appear as a mapped drive on the server, will this work ? Will we need a remote agent to allow us to backup TO the NAS ? (many of the posts speak about backing up the NAS)
If you look at symantec tech note 237737 they dont tell you if it works or not, they sort of sit on the fence.

Any help appreciated
Thanks
G

Symantec guys just don't want to say "we support this" b/c they usually try to stay as simple as possible.  But from my experience, it should work just fine.  Just set up a back-to-disk device in your 11d pointing to a share/folder on your TeraStation, and you're good to go.  No remote agent needed.
