Question : Flashing cursor after restoring a ghost image to a new hard drive
i have a 320gb seagate 2.5" drive to replace my seagate 160gb
using ghost, i created an image of the 160gb disk, then installed the 320gb drive.
the image restored to the 320gb drive fine and without errors, but when i try to boot from the 320, all i get is a flashing cursor in the upper left hand side of the screen.
any ideas ?
Answer : Flashing cursor after restoring a ghost image to a new hard drive
the probelm is that VISTA does not use a standard MBR ( certainly not from win 98 )
You need to get into the Vista repair console via your install DVD, and do
fixboot
fixmbr
I hope this helps !
